Why do you want to work in assessment development?
What the interviewer is testing: Tests motivation and understanding of the role.
Key terms: assessment, quality, impact
Assessment development sits at the intersection of subject expertise, educational principles, and quality assurance. I am drawn to the intellectual challenge of defining what should be measured, designing methods that validly measure it, and ensuring the entire process is fair and defensible. I understand the real-world impact - a well-designed assessment can open doors for learners; a poorly designed one can unfairly close them. I want to apply my attention to detail, my understanding of educational principles, and my collaborative skills to contribute to assessments that are genuinely fit for purpose. I am also excited by the opportunity to work within a regulated framework that demands rigour and continuous improvement.
I have experience in teaching and thought this would be a good next step.
